1996年のSSBでの特集は、83年に「サウンド・ストリート」で放送したDoo Wop特集の完全復刻版でした。
でも83年当時、入手難だったり、盤質に問題あるとかの理由で放送されなかった曲があるので、一部の曲は差し替えが起きています。
今回、83年版のみで放送された曲も織り込んだので全50曲もの一大コンピになってしまいました。大半の曲がCD、特にRhinoのDoo Wop Boxに収録されていたことを考えると、83年に達郎さんが二晩徹夜して作ったプログラムというのは凄いなあとあらためて感心させられました。
